Wireless Serial Interface

The Cable Blaster allows you to connect your wireless enabled laptop to on-board serial devices such as programmable ignitions, EFI systems, and dataloggers through a secure WiFi connection.  It eliminates the need to drag out long, tangled serial cables and allows you to download and upload data from the comfort of your trailer.

Features...

  • Supports WEP, WPA, and WPA2 wireless encryption standards
  • Capability to connect up to 4 serial devices
  • Supports serial transfer speeds up to 460,800 baud
  • Two ports can be cross-linked for EFI/datalogger combinations
The various devices are connected to the Cable Blaster on-board the vehicle.  A wireless ethernet link (WiFi) is established between the Cable Blaster and computer.  A small application running on the computer controls which on-board device is being communicated with.  The software also handles transferring the data from the user application through the Cable Blaster.

Each Cable Blaster kit includes...

  • DC power cord
  • WiFi antenna
  • DB9 gender changer and null modem adapter (for configuration)

We can also provide adapters for your RacePak.  The 25-pin connector on the RacePak is not a standard RS232 pinout.  Our adapter converts the RacePak pin out to a standard RS232 pinout.  Now you can use a standard DB-9F to DB-25M cable.
